(1) The obligations of an adoptive
person shall be as follows:
(a) To make arrangements for the maintenance, health
care, sports, entertainment and proper education of
the adopted son or daughter according to his or her
reputation and capacity as if he or she were his or
her biological son or daughter,
(b) To protect the rights and interests of the adopted
son or daughter,
(c) To exercise the authority as referred to in Chapter-5
of this Part.
(2) If the adoptive person does not fulfill the obligations
under sub-section (1), the adopted son or daughter may live
separately by obtaining his or her partition share.
